Plenty of events and exhibitions will be shown during the year 2017 to commemorate the 500 years since the LUTHERAN REFORMATION. In WITTENBERG, nowadays known as LUTHERSTADT WITTENBERG, the Alma Mater Leucorea, the University of Wittenberg was founded in 1502. Already in 1508 Martin Luther became professor of theology at the University.
